AA Cars, the online used car classifieds portal, is investing £5 million in its business and will be offering a year’s free breakdown cover for customers that buy through the website.
AA Cars launched in July following a partnership with the existing VCARS online classifieds platform.
All cars listed on the site come with a free 26-point car history check.
AA Cars has seen an influx of participating dealers and in total enquiries from dealers has leapt by 40% since the launch of the site.
Now, as an added incentive for dealers’ customers, everyone who buys a car through The AA Cars qualifies for a year’s free breakdown cover from the AA.
David Bruce, director of AA Cars, said: “We entered this market because we already offer a wide range of car buying advice. In fact, one of the most common questions asked by AA members concerns buying a used car so this was a natural step to take.”
Before introduction of the ‘63’ plate in September, the SMMT revised its 2013 new car registrations figure to 2.2 million.
Bruce said: “For every new car sold, at least three used cars change hands and many of our dealers are already reporting their best September for over five years.
“We think that now is a great time for people to consider changing their car and we are working hard to drive that message home to anyone thinking of changing their car.”

You entered the market on the back of a rival breakdown company venture in RAC cars.. Very innovative thinking !!, it won't last for both companies - stick to what you know best !
