Volkswagen Group has “fundamentally reorganised” as part of its Strategy 2018 which includes a new board of management function for China.

VW supplied 2.3 million vehicles in the China region last year and Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, latterly group board of management member for “Commercial Vehicles”, will head the new China function.

The changes also mean Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be brought under the same managerial roof as MAN and Scania in a board of management group function for all of its commercial vehicle brands. The commercial vehicle business will be led by Leif Östling, currently president and chief executive officer of Scania.

There have been a host of management changes within VW Group which will come into effect on September 1, 2012.

Volkswagen’s head of bodywork development Dr. Frank Welsch has been appointed as the new member of the board of management for technical development at Skoda.

Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber move from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to become chairman and chief executive officer of Bentley Motors in Crewe and President of Bugatti. Wolfgang Dürheimer, CEO of Bentley and President of Bugatti, moves to Audi in Ingolstadt to become the member of the board of management with responsibility for technical development.
