A man who walked into Bolton Audi’s workshop and drove off in a £27,000 unregistered A4 has been sentenced to a year in a young offender’s institute.
Bolton Crown Court heard how Thomas Sharp took the car as it was being PDI’d on February 29, but abandoned the car 500 yards away.
He admitted taking a vehicle without consent, and other driving offences.
In Sharp’s defence, the court heard he was about to become a parent, and was moving out of the area to make a fresh start.
The dealership is part of Inchcape Retail.

Poor Tom he only got to drive 1.3698 yards for each day of custody!.... But seriously Inchcape really should take much more care with their motor cars, as this behaviour/method is not new.
