Scottish Audi/Volkswagen group Hawco has welcomed Allan McGuire to its Inverness-based business as group operations director.

The senior figure takes over responsibility for the busy multi-branch Volkswagen and Highland Audi business after working with major groups at senior level at Inverness, Aberdeen and latterly Glasgow where he was head of business when Glasgow Audi was Europe’s largest Audi Centre.

McGuire will be responsible for Inverness-based Highland Audi; the group’s Volkswagen branches throughout the North and its Millburn used vehicle operation at Inverness.

The group recently invested £1.5 million upgrading its Audi Centre with the showroom growing to a 12-car display and a dedicated service department opening nearby.

With a staff of around 160 and an annual turnover of £50 million, the Hawco Group sells 1500 new Audi and Volkswagen cars every year along with 1000 used vehicles.

McGuire says he plans growth of up to 20% over the next few years.
