Family-owned Harratts is expanding two of its sites in Wakefield and is creating 10 new jobs in the area as a result.

Harratts’ Kia and Mitsubishi franchises will move to larger premises. The Kia site only opened in January this year on Barnsley Road, but the group said it has experienced rapid growth, selling nearly double its target of new cars in its first 10 months.

The dealership will now move to Harratts’ headquarters in Calder Park, offering a significant increase in floor space.

Harratts Mitsubishi Wakefield has also announced it is moving to larger premises in Darton, near Barnsley..

Andrew Venn, operations manager for Harratts, said: "We are finishing the year with demand outstripping capacity at our dealerships.

"We are also thrilled to announce that these moves, combined with increased sales, means we’ll be looking to bolster our sales teams at both sites by up to 10 new staff members."
