The managing directors of BMW UK and Ford of Britain have been appointed to help lead the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
BMW boss Tim Abbott will take over presidency of the trade body in January from Nigel Stein, chief executive of GKN.
Ford's MD Mark Ovenden will become a vice-president along with Gareth Jones, MD of Ebm-Papst Automotive & Drives UK.
Other vice-presidents include John Neill of Unipart Group, Bill Parfitt of GMUK, Robin Woolcock of VW Group and Relf Speth of Jaguar Land Rover.
