Kia has revised its Sorento SUV which is available to order now ahead of its on sale date in December.
Prices now start at £26,495 (an increase of £3,390) and the top of the range model is now £35,095 (a price increase of £2,585).
Kia UK managing director Michael Cole told AM recently the brand's network of dealers was coping well with how the brand has moved on to compete against volume competitors. He believes the price increases that have been introduced are justified due to the improved quality and design of the new models coming from Kia. Cole: "The step from the older product to our new range has been such that having those conversations about increasing prices is made much easier. I'm not being complacent here. We will continue to offer quality cars that will be seen as value for money."
All models now have permanent all-wheel drive, feature interior quality improvements and are powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi turbodiesel.
The length and width of the car are unchanged at 4,685 mm and 1,885 mm respectively, but the ride has been lowered slightly by 10mm.
Steering, brakes and suspension have all been revised in order to improve how the Sorento handles on the road.
Emissions and fuel efficiency has been slightly improved with an improvement of 5.7mpg to 47.9mpg and a reduction of 22g/km to 155g/km on the manual 2.2-litre version. The fuel improvements mean a saving of £155 in the first year's road tax.
Kia is looking to generate 65,000 sales in the UK this year and wants to get to a 5% market share with 100,000 sales from a network of 180 dealers. The Kia network will increase to 174 this year.
