Volkswagen has revealed its Taigun small SUV at the São Paulo Motor Show in Brazil.
The new model has not been confirmed for production but if VW decides to go ahead with it there will be Skoda and Seat versions too. The new models would likely launch in late 2014.
The new model is based on VW’s Small Family platform, the same one that underpins the Up city car.
Just like the up!, the Taigun is smaller in length than a Polo supermini at 3.86 metres long and 1.73 metres wide.
The Taigun will be powered by a the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 108bhp which is featured in the Up.
The look of the Taigun is deliberately styled to emulate that of its SUV siblings, the Tiguan and Touareg.
