Subaru will launch the new rear-wheel drive BRZ Coupe in UK in July next year.

The new 2+2 model will act as a halo product for the brand and is the result of a Subaru-led joint-engineering venture with Toyota.

Toyota has its own version called the FT-86 which will also help to inject some aspiration into the Japanese brand’s line-up which has been heavily dominated by family vehicles.

The BRZ Coupe will come with a 198bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift levers.
