Motors.co.uk launched a free search app for smart phones.

The new Android application, entitled ‘Motors.co.uk car search’ has been created to make searching for vehicles as simple as possible.

It allows buyers to search for their ideal make and model from a database of around 150,000 used cars from UK retailers and private sellers.

As with the motors.co.uk website, the app helps users find their ideal car by evaluating the vehicle against a list of chosen requirements.

The app, can be downloaded from the ‘market’ section of any Android-powered phone and you can search for it by entering ‘motors’ or ‘car search’ into the search field.

Motors.co.uk's iPhone app has been downloaded by nearly 70,000 people since launch earlier in 2010.

Olli Astley, CTO at motors.co.uk, said: “The latest application utilises the same Microsoft FAST technology that powers the motors.co.uk website to allow instant and highly detailed searches to be performed.

"The app is extremely user friendly and, combined with our local and national search function, will ensure buyers are able to find exactly the car they want.”
