Ferrari has recalled 50 of its 458 Italia models in the UK.

A total of 1,200 458 Italia models will be recalled across the world following reports that five of the supercars caught fire. No models in the UK have experienced the fault so far.

Ferrari has traced the problem to adhesive used in the wheel-arch assemblies which can overheat, smoke and catch fire in certain circumstances. The repair will take half a day to fix and will be done free of charge.

The five owners that have experienced the problem with their Ferrari have been promised a new £170,000 458 Italia.
