The Co-operative Motor Group has launched an aftersales charter and price promise guarantee designed to demonstrate its commitment to offering a transparent and fair approach to it customers.

Under the charter, the price promise will match any like-for-like servicing and repair quote using genuine manufacturer parts.

Every invoice will be explained in full, detailing the work completed, applicable charges and the benefits of labour and parts guarantees.

As part of the new service, the Co-operative Motor Group promises to always carry out a full vehicle safety inspection as standard under its duty- of-care pledge and customers will be offered a range of mobility options to keep them on the road while their vehicle is in the dealership.

Research by the group of 1,400 customers revealed that while one in three people choose price as the most important reason when deciding where to purchase a vehicle from, the next most important factor influencing their decision was aftersales support.

More than 75% of those questioned described their ideal car dealership
as trustworthy, indicating that customers are looking for high-quality service.

Carl Traviato, Co-operative Motor Group aftersales manager, said: “As a co-operative business we want to champion the highest standards of customer care and by launching the aftersales charter we hope to demonstrate just how serious we are about making sure our customers are completely satisfied.

“When we re-branded from Sunwin Motors last year, we adopted the Co-operative’s strong and trusted brand and we will continue to build on this by developing long-lasting relations with our customers.”

In addition to the charter, if customers wanting to purchase a new or used vehicle can find an identical model for less than they have paid within seven days of the invoice date, the Co-operative Motor Group will offer a like-for-like product (make, model, version, colour, spec, warranty cover, production age and for used cars with a recorded mileage within 1,000 miles) and provide £100-worth of Co-operative Group vouchers.
