BEN, the automotive industry charity, has announced a management restructure to help it extend its reach.
It is looking to recruit a head of marketing and a head of business development to forge new relationships with organisations across the industry through which the charity can generate sustainable income from new sources.
The existing fundraising team will report to the head of business development.
In view of these changes, the role of director of fundraising and communications has become redundant, and Charles Davis left BEN towards the end of September.
Chief executive David Main said: "It’s clear to me that we’re making a real difference to the lives of thousands of people who are working or have worked in companies right across the automotive industry; we are, in essence, the welfare service for the industry. We now need to continually challenge ourselves as to whether there is more we can do.
"We are extremely grateful to Charles for the contribution he made during his time with BEN and wish him the very best with his future career.
"Our priority now is to raise the profile of BEN, and create further understanding of the wide range of help we provide.
"Those who’ve come to us for help will attest to the difference BEN’s help has made to their lives and the caring and confidential way in which their needs were handled.
"We would ask those who know about BEN to spread the word to colleagues to help us achieve our vision of an industry in which everyone in need receives BEN’s care."
