South of England dealer group Vospers has added its first Nissan and Renault dealership.

The AM100 car dealer has bought Mumfords of Plymouth. The family-owned dealership had called in administrators BDO at the start of the month.

Vospers chairman Peter Vosper told AM that in the medium term he plans to move the Renault and Nissan franchises to his existing major retail site at Marsh Mills, Plymouth, where Vospers already has Ford, Mazda, Fiat, Peugeot and Abarth showrooms.

The Mumfords site will then be integrated into Vospers' neighbouring commercial vehicles centre to become a dedicated LCV dealership for five franchises.
