Mike O'Driscoll, Jaguar Cars' managing director, has today announced his retirement from day-to-day operations at Jaguar Land Rover at the end of March 2011.

He moved to the UK from the United States in 2007 to take up the position of managing director, following Ford's announcement of its plan to sell Jaguar and Land Rover.

He led the Jaguar brand through the sale to Tata, and oversaw the introduction of an all-new product line-up of the XF, XK, and new XJ.

O'Driscoll has agreed to continue as chairman of Jaguar Heritage.

Jaguar Heritage is an independent trust that manages Jaguar’s museum, archives and extensive car collection globally.
