Volvo has redeveloped its D5 and 2.4D diesel engines which will be available in its S80, V70, XC60 and XC70 models from April 1.
The new engines have resulted in a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions while also offering a power boost.
The new D5 engine offers a 18bhp performance boost to give 203bhp and 420 Nm of torque. The 2.4D single turbo features 173bhp, an improvement of 10bhp, and 420 Nm of torque.
The new technology has allowed CO2 emissions to drop as follows:
