A special event at Seat’s Martorell factory saw Alguersuari receive the keys to his new Cupra R – the most powerful production car ever produced by Seat – from chairman of the Spanish brand’s board of directors Dr Francisco Javier García Sanz and Seat S. A. president James Muir.

The deal is part of Seat’s plan to support the successes of sportspeople such as Alguersuari in motorsport and other fields.

Dr Sanz said: "Seat is a young, sport-oriented brand, and its car designs mirror that spirit.

"That is why we are delighted that Jaime, personifying the talent of the new generation of Spanish sportspeople and the youngest ever driver to debut in Formula One, will be able to enjoy driving his new Leon Cupra R – SEAT’s most powerful car ever."
