Citroen UK will begin targetting urban motorists with an electric car, badged C-Zero, in late 2010.
The zero-emissions plug-in city car is a rebadged Mitsubishi I-Miev, just like PSA partner Peugeot's forthcoming iOn.
It has a range of around 80 miles, and an 80% charge takes around 30 minutes at a dedicated charging station.
2010 will also see Citroen roll out stop-start functions in many products, and it will independently launch a full hybrid car, badged DS5, in 2011.
Citroen said C-Zero is perfectly adapted to the needs of all kinds of users - including public sector operators, local authorities, smaller businesses and company fleets - and also to those of private customers looking for a car with exceptionally low running costs.
A four-seater, it has comfort and safety equipment including power steering, ABS, ESP, electric windows, six airbags and air conditioning.
