Dany Bahar, the new chief executive officer for Group Lotus, is to unveil his seven year detailed plans for the brand’s product line-up in December.Dany Bahar, Lotus CEO, with the Evora

He said: “My vision is simple; Lotus will be profitable by producing beautiful, environmentally relevant, credible sportscars that are honest and authentic. By doing this, we will return the brand to where it was in the past, and where it rightfully belongs.

"Our future lies in aligning ourselves to what the market wants, rather than what we think the market wants; we must concentrate on our customers."

Bahar also explained that returning to motorsport was the "perfect platform" to show off Lotus’ capabilities.

Lotus has already been confirmed as returning to Formula 1 next year, but Bahar is also looking at participating in the Indy car series, GT and Le Mans to help demonstrate the brand’s technology.

Operationally, Lotus F1 Racing will be run separately from Group Lotus and the two parties will liaise.
