Clist death
Peter Clist, former managing director and chairman of Clist & Rattle, the Bristol-based dealer group, died on July 9 after battling Guillain-Barré Syndrome for more than two years. Clist & Rattle represents Daihatsu, Perodua, Proton, Skoda and Renault.

Help for BEN
Koeliker UK has donated a SsangYong Kyron 2.0 EX auto to automotive charity BEN. The new car will be used by the BEN team to travel to and from the events and exhibitions it puts on each year. The car will be replaced every 20,000 miles.

Joint plan
BMW and Fiat have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore possible areas of co-operation on parts between its Mini and Alfa Romeo brands. Both companies will be work towards cutting costs and improving their “competitive positions”.

Penny push
Chevrolet launched an advertising campaign for its new Aveo on Oxford Street, London, with a 20-foot billboard made of 20,000 removable pennies. The display lasted just 30 minutes as passers-by grabbed at the loose change.

Correction
Pendragon’s share price peaked at 132p two years ago, not more than 600p as stated in the last issue of AM. The incorrect figure came from an LSE website.
