Chevrolet has revealed the first official pictures of its new Cruze compact family car.

The new model will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, before going on sale in Europe in spring 2009. CHevrolet UK are hoping for UK dealers to get the new Cruze model by April.

The four-door model is an entirely global car, which will go on sale across all continents as one of Chevrolet’s core new models.

At launch, three engines will be offered – 1.6-litre 110bhp and 1.8-litre 138bhp petrol units, both with variable valve timing for optimal power, fuel economy and exhaust emissions, or a 2.0-litre 148bhp common-rail turbodiesel.
