The carmaker, which sells the brands Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep, said his appointment has been welcomed by the UK dealer council, particularly his “vast Chrysler background and substantial international experience”.
Goretti was formerly managing director of Chrysler Italy and most recently international project director of Chrysler LLC’s global operation.
Prior to Chrysler, he worked for Ford and Fiat in Italy, headed Fiat’s operation in Japan and was marketing director of Fiat Auto UK between 2000 and 2002.
Goretti has been brought in to manage the UK operation, third most important for Chrysler’s sales worldwide, following the resignation of Simon Elliott.
Elliott left to become director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
