French electric and diesel van maker Aixam Mega has agreed a contract with independent service network Autosafe for provision of service and warranty work to its vehicles.
A training programme will be rolled out to Autosafe’s 400-strong membership from this summer.
Autosafe director Ian James said the arrangement with Aixam Mega offered network members an opportunity to boost their business, particularly to the fleet market.
Aixam Mega’s UK managing director, Lawrence Holland, said the new arrangement would support Aixam Mega dealers who are selling across a wide geographical area.
He added: “Many of our dealers, particularly those offering the Mega Multitrucks range of ultra-light commercials, are selling vehicles outside their immediate territories.
“The arrangement with Autosafe enables them to do so more easily, by providing assurance to their customers of the availability of ongoing aftersales care within their own local area, and removing from dealers the obligation to provide an aftersales service that may be uneconomic for them.”
The brand’s ultra-light vehicles are being bought by local authorities, urban SMEs and universities.
They include the Aixam Crossline, A751 and Scouty city cars, and the Mega Multitrucks range of ultra-light commercial vehicles, offered in 479cc diesel and electric-powered variants.
