Press reports have revealed the proposed launch of the code of practice for service and repair.

Motor Codes Ltd have launched it on the basis of it being a low cost venture - £75 pa subscription.

The code has not yet gained Office of Fair Trading approval compared with the BOSCH sponsored code.

It appears any UK/repair business can sign up providing it promises to satisfy the code as evidenced by a compliance check every two years.

Garages subscribing to the code must however, be extremely diligent if adopting the code.

By confirming compliance with the code they will, of course, be liable to prosecution by Trading Standards Officers if they don’t deliver on that promise.
