Toyota Yaris has been named green car of the year 2008 by the Environmental Transport Association (ETA).

Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius followed in second and third place.

ETA looked at over 1300 cars currently on sale in Britain and examined their power, emissions, fuel efficiency and the amount of noise they produce.

The worst cars included Dodge SRT10, Ferrari F430 and Bentley Continental.
