EurotaxGlass's claims its Glassmatix crash repair estimating system has been kept on by more than 80% of the bodyshops which lost their Zurich approval earlier this year.

The company said the system's ability to generate local repair estimates without incurring a charge has proven attractive for repairers seeking extra revenue from local fleets and retail repairs.

Glassmatix was a preferred estimating system of Zurich, which chopped its approved network from 170 repairers down to four main partners in February.

Glassmatix has also attracted more than 100 new subscribers since the start of the year, said EurotaxGlass's.

Richard Gandy, commercial manager, said: "The fact that so many users who are no longer in Zurich’s approved network have opted to continue using Glassmatix is a powerful endorsement."

"For some time repairers have been faced with increasing operating costs across the business. Unlike other such systems, GlassMatix helps minimise expense by only charging for the creation of an estimate if it is transmitted to an insurer."
