The new 26,000sq ft facility includes over 4,500sq ft of office and reception area with two private customer reception rooms, and employs 41 staff. It has the official Ferrari jig brackets for a comprehensive range of current and historic models, ensuring that it is able to make repairs to the majority of Ferrari road cars still in use in the UK today.
The technical equipment in the bodyshop includes three David Utting XP1200 spraybooths with separate paint mixing and gun wash facilities manufactured in stainless steel for cleanliness at all times. The main workshop has eight Ravaglioli lifts for vehicle repair, a separate IT section with dedicated Ferrari diagnostic equipment, and a wheel alignment system with dedicated geometry ramp for optimal vehicle geometry.
The £1m facility includes aluminium and steel repair cabin, keeping the metal repair activities separate from the paint and vehicle finishing areas. All structural repairs using only Ferrari Approved Car Bench Muraena Jig systems are carried out in these cabins as well as panel forming and welding, with specialised equipment for aluminium welding to Ferrari standards.
The paintshop includes 12 preparation bays which are capable of processing in excess of 20 jobs per day for painting. Bodytechnics also has a unique polishing ramp to allow the operator to polish the vehicle at eye level and attain a perfect finish every time.
