Joint general secretary of the Unite union expects good news for Jaguar Land Rover "within days."

Tony Woodley told the Liverpool Echo: “We have a market that’s collapsed, so we have a short or medium-term problem as people need liquidity.

"We are close to a situation where the government has been really helpful and Tata’s helped themselves, and I would expect good news for this company within days."

Tata, who own JLR, recently announced they were investing "tens of millions of pounds" into the company.

Woodley said he had worked seven days a week for the past two and a half weeks negotiating with Tata and ministers to secure a deal for the ailing firm.
