Nissan Motor (GB) has made the new Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service as compulsory across its network and has agreed to cover the costs involved.

Nissan has confirmed it will be covering subscription costs, annual renewal costs and costs for compliance checks at its 180 dealers across the UK.

Dealers and repairers that sign up to the Code of Practice are committing to providing and "honest service, open and fair pricing and billing, all work completed as agreed, competent and conscience staff and a straightforward complaints procedure".

Steve McLennan, director of network development and quality for Nissan, said: "We are pleased to be involved in the introduction of the new Code of Practice.

"All customers will benefit from this code as it sets clear standards for dealers and repair centres for repairing and servicing vehicles. This code can only help to improve customer satisfaction."
