Fiat eco:Drive system

Fiat has developed a new eco:Drive software application which will show drivers how their driving style is affecting their fuel consumption.

The free software can be downloaded from www.fiat.com/ecodrive and installed on a computer. Drivers can then plug a USB into their Fiat, using the Microsoft Blue&Me system to record detailed information about the car’s efficiency and driving style.

Drivers can then take the information from the USB and upload it to the eco:Drive software on their computer.

Users can analyse fuel consumption and emissions for each journey made, and receive advice on how to drive more efficiently, reducing their impact on the environment.

Fiat Blue&Me

eco:Drive will give drivers a score out of 100 to show how efficiently they drive based on acceleration, deceleration, gear changes and speed. The system then offers a series of tutorials to help you to improve the score.

Fiat’s 500 and Grande Punto will be the fist models to be compatible with the new software. Other models in the Fiat range will be compatible next year.
