Ex-SMMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan has joined Courland Automotive Practice as its non-executive adviser for its London office.

Courland Automotive Practice is a recruitment specialist which finds senior professionals in the automotive industry.

Martin Bohling, Courland’s founder and global managing partner, said: "We are thrilled that Chris has chosen to join us as a non-executive advisor in our firm.

"His extensive knowledge of the automotive industry, coupled with his passion for maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the UK as a global automotive center will provide Courland with a value-added dimension to our executive search capabilities."

Macgowan left the SMMT on January 2 and was replaced as chief executive by Paul Everitt.
