Fiat is in the black for the first time since 1998 after posting revenues 12.9% higher than last year at €59 billion (£44bn).
Net income was up 78% in 2007 to €2.1bn (£1.6bn).
Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Group CEO, said the company would continue to cut costs and improve its productivity in its factories.
