The manufacturer said the London-based dealer had been using images for at least seven years, without the company’s permission. In a settlement, P&S Motors will have to pay £35,000 in legal costs.
The agreement was driven by DaimlerChrysler’s in-house legal team, headed by legal manager Stacey Penn.
Penn said: “DaimlerChrysler and Mercedes-Benz is proud of its reputation, image, logo and intellectual property. It is important for our customers to know that where they see our symbols or our images they know it is with our consent and with an officially-endorsed company.
“In this case, P&S Motors had been using our material without that consent and the result was a false impression could be given. P&S Motors is in no way affiliated to DaimlerChrysler or Mercedes-Benz and it is important that they are now being forced to stop this activity.”
P&S Motors also sells other prestige cars like the Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda Clubsport and Ferrari F430.
