Hendy Group has invested more than £1m in a new parts warehouse in the south of England.

The 15,000 sq ft facility at Hedge End, near Southampton, will stock more than £1.5m-worth of car spares.

It will serve the group’s franchised workshops throughout the region, and has a trade counter and delivery fleet to supply independent repairers. The group has a centralised call centre for parts ordering.

Hendy Group parts manager Andy Smith said the opening of the new facility illustrates the importance of the parts operation to the group.

“Our parts operation is expanding all the time as we open new dealerships and develop our trade customer base,’’ said Smith. “To have such an impressive facility means that we can provide a streamlined service and stock more parts than ever before.’’

Hendy Group, with a turnover of £185m, represents Ford, Honda, Mazda and Kia and is set to open a new dealership and bodyshop in Eastleigh later this summer.
