Mitsubishi has created a new structure for its service plans for new models bought from this month onwards.

New customers will get coverage of up to three years or 37,500 miles for a starting price of £100, rising to £250 excluding VAT.

The Mitsubishi Service Plan (MSP) will cover labour and standard service parts. Customers will have to pay for any additional work or components that may be required.

“With prices like these we anticipate a very high percentage of take-up for the new service plans, as there’s no doubt that it will save our customers money,” said Lance Bradley, director of sales and marketing at Mitsubishi UK.

Bradley thinks customers won’t need much encouragement from dealers to sign-up for the new service plan at the time of purchase. However, customers can still opt into the scheme within 30 days of the vehicle being registered.

Mitsubishi sees this initiative as a way of increasing customer loyalty, with owners returning to their dealer on a regular basis. It will also generate more frequent customer contact and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships.

The package will be offered to private, business and fleet customers and will cover all Mitsubishi models, except for the current Lancer Evolution IX.
