Bodyshops can expect more technical support from Akzo Nobel Sikkens after its latest recruitment drive.

Eleven new technical sales representatives were picked from over 100 candidates from across the UK to help with bodyshop training and installation of Akzo Nobel’s coating products.

The new employees were subjected to a two-hour assessment by Akzo Nobel Sikkens technical manager, Michael Battrick.

Battrick said: “The technical role at Akzo Nobel is not only a troubleshooting role but also a pro-active training role so the ability to communicate effectively is vital.

“Listening to customers and analysing their requirements is key to helping them achieve success,” added Ed Hilbourne, marketing manager.

Kevin Nineham, national sales manager, will head the team of new recruits.

Gary Millward, Frank Clowes, Simon Barton, Andy Millar, Michael Burgess, Mark Taylor, Tony Edney, Ray Edmond, Jon Barnes, Graeme Petrie and Darren McComb will all be responsible for training, installing, troubleshooting and technical support.
