The BMW Group started the new year with a slight sales increase of 0.5% to 94,276 units.
Sales of the BMW brand on its own increased by 3% to 80,629 units (previous year: 78,265).
Mini sales in January were down by 12.3% to 13,622 units. For 2007 as a whole, the company is planning to break the sales record of 200,428 vehicles delivered in 2005.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars sold 25 Phantoms to customers in January, 16.7% down over the same period last year. Despite the sales slip, BMW is planning for Rolls-Royce to beat its 2006 sales figure of 805 units during 2007.
