The visits will take place between September and December.
In April the FSA said firms need to do more to meet their legal obligations. It produced a client money guide to help firms understand what they need to do and how to do it.
And later this year a web-based training package on client money will be available. This interactive course will provide firms with a practical, interactive guide to client money requirements, including the client money calculation.
The FSA has already introduced targeted information and resources for small firms as part of its commitment to make it easier to do business with. These include small firms application packs, a single invoice for all fees, payments by instalments, e-learning packages, a more targeted website for small firms (www.fsa.gov.uk/smallfirms), roadshows, surgeries and improvements at the Firm Contact Centre.
