Volvo has released details of the diesel model in its all-new C70 coupe/convertible range, which will be available in Sport, SE and SE Lux trim levels with prices ranging from £29,420 to £33,170 (on the road).

Volvo’s powerful five-cylinder, 2.4-litre D5 turbodiesel engine, which is available across the range from the XC90 to the S40, delivers 180PS and 350Nm of torque from 1,750rpm to 3,250rpm in the all-new C70. It is initially available exclusively with Geartronic transmission as standard.

The high level of performance and torque for the C70 D5 Geartronic makes 0-60mph possible in 8.8 seconds, with 38.7mpg combined carbon dioxide emissions of 193 g/km.

Volvo anticipates that 35 per cent of the all-new C70s will be sold with the D5 diesel engine, with the Sport predicted to be the most popular trim level.
