BMW has announced it will mark the return of London’s British International Motor Show with its first-ever world debut at a British motor show.

The new BMW, speculated to be either an M6 cabriolet or M5 Touring, will be showcased within the BMW Group Plaza.

The special stand-alone 11,000sq m display arena will be situated alongside Royal Victoria Dock and directly in front of the main entrance to the ExCeL exhibition halls.

The BMW Group Plaza will also feature UK debuts for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce products.

Jim O’Donnell, BMW (UK) managing director says: “We are really pleased to be playing a key role in helping this year’s motor show become a real success, especially with such an innovative and dramatic presence.

"The UK is the only country in the world in which the BMW Group runs production facilities for all three of our brands and we are therefore very enthusiastic about a re-invigorated British motor show.”

BMW is among the 29 car manufacturers who have committed to exhibiting at the British International Motor Show taking place in London in July. Notable absences include VW Group brands Audi, VW, Škoda, and Subaru.
