UK car production took a 14.6% dive in November to 128,544 units.
Year to date production figures was down by 9.6% to 1,357,321.
“Unsurprisingly, with continued restructuring within the industry, car production figures for November followed the recent downward trend,” said Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive.
“However, what is encouraging to see for the UK economy is that the lion's share of this - nearly 80% - is destined for export markets.”
