Sytner has increased its BMW representation following the acquisition of Godfrey Hall in Coventry.

The 56,000 sq ft facility, which has recently been redeveloped, comprises a 12-car showroom, 30-bay workshop and a 12-tier car park. More than 1,700 new and used cars were sold in 2005, and the business generates annual revenues of £50m.

Gerard Nieuwenhuys, Sytner group managing director, describes the dealership as ‘world class’. “Godfrey Hall has built a fantastic new facility in Coventry and, over the years, he has built up a great operation,” he says. “We have the opportunity to further invest in the site with the development of a new Mini facility.”

The group, which acquired the Midlands-based dealership for an undisclosed sum on January 4 this year, already operates the BMW franchise in nearby Leicester and Solihull.

Sytner was unable to give any further details regarding its purchase of William Jacks shares at the time of going to press. Shareholders are due to vote on January 27.
