Ford has dismissed rumours it had received a bid from Renault to buy its British luxury car brand Jaguar.

Rumours of Renault’s interest surfaced in the French press last month, but were dismissed as speculation by Ford executives at the Detroit Motor Show this month.

Jaguar also denied the rumour, while a Renault spokesperson said the rumour was ‘unfounded’.
