DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Group, which has announced plans to increase exports of US models to Europe, has made new appointments in its global marketing and product strategy organisations.

Stephen Bartoli is appointed to the new position of vice president global product planning and marketing. He will report to senior vice president global marketing George Murphy. Bartoli was formerly vice president of product strategy.

Jeffrey Bell is appointed as vice president of product strategy. He will be responsible for product strategy and corporate strategy planning processes, reporting to Chrysler Group chief operating officer, Eric Ridenour. Bell previously held the position of vice president - global Chrysler/Jeep marketing.

Gordon Heidacker has been appointed director of strategic projects, reporting to Bell. Heidacker previously served as director of hybrid electric vehicle product development.

The appointments will take effect on February 1.
