Daihatsu is recalling over 15,000 Hijet LCVs for a safety-related inspection and possible repair.

Owners will be contacted directly by the UK distributor and invited to visit their nearest dealer for an inspection and repair if necessary. There have been no reported accidents or injuries as a result of the defects.

This recall covers all Hijet 1.0 litre, 1.2, 1.3 and 4WD variants and could take two hours to remedy.

Daihatsu dealers will be asked to inspect the front hub and spindle assembly, following concerns over the long-term durability.

In the event that the initial inspection identifies possible future concerns, the entire front hub, spindle bearing and seals will be replaced free of charge.
