Thatcham, the motor insurance research body, is developing another security device standard: Category 6.

This will build on the Category 5 approval launched last year for comprehensive vehicle tracking systems, and will offer accreditation for other tracking systems suitable for mid- and lower-value cars. The accreditation is due to be launched next spring.
