Sytner has opened a £19m flagship BMW facility at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The four-acre site – one of the most expensive developments in UK automotive retail history – employs 130 staff and is expected to generate £80m turnover in its first year.

An amalgamation of BMW Gerrards Cross and Hughenden Valley operations, the new High Wycombe facility is one of the largest BMW dealerships in Europe.

Nigel Hurley is the newly appointed franchise director (West) for High Wycombe and three other BMW dealerships in the group. Hurley has worked for Sytner for six years, and his new role means he will now oversee operations at Sytner BMW Leicester, Sheffield and Solihull in addition to High Wycombe.

“It’s a very busy time,” says Hurley, “but I relish the challenge. We have great people throughout the Sytner group, with great morale and superb training. This is at the heart of the company’s ethos and I believe it will make High Wycombe a huge success.”

The new showroom will sell around 4,000 units a year. The site also houses a national corporate sales operation.

Hurley says BMW is a key profit generator for Sytner, which now has eight operations nationally for the German premium brand.
