New car registrations in Scotland for last month totalled 39,795 units.
This shows a decrease of 2.83% in comparison with March 2004 when 40,954 new cars were registered.
Douglas Robertson, chief executive of the SMTA, says: “Following the decreases in January and February we are delighted that March has been such a strong month.
We did anticipate a decrease in new registrations but such a small decrease shows that the market remains very strong. We can now look ahead to another successful year in 2005.”
