Transport Minister David Jamieson has announced he will be stepping down from the Government at the next General Election.

Jamieson has been the MP for Devenport since 1992.

He said: "I have had a wonderful time as Devonport MP over the last 13 years. But I feel that the time has now come for a change and for a fresh Labour face to represent Devonport and to take us forward."

Jamieson has been Transport Minister for the last three years.
