BMW has told a German industry magazine, Autombilwoche, that it plans to raise productivity by 5% per annum.
BMW basis this is partly to be achieved by the further reduction of new model development cycles, which have already been more than halved, from 60 months to less than 30.
And the ramp-up to maximum production of new models is expected to be achieved within five months or less of launch, rather than the usual 9-12 months.
